Open House!
Hello people, open house's in a week's time. :O And it's time to work hard again.
Date: 12th October 2007, Friday
Time: 10am-4pm
Where we are situated: OAC bench, A11 bench area and grass patch behind
The Open House Comm has come up with 5 committees and you are required to choose the committee you would like to be in this weekend. Please note that you are given 2 choices and committees are allocated to you on a first come first serve basis. Please read through the jobscopes below and SMS your 2 choices to Melissa by Sunday, 12 pm. Failure to do so would result in you being allocated to a comm that still has vacancies + gifts of PT.
Sub-committees
1. Souvenirs (7 places)
· Come up with ideas and designs
· Materials needed
· Quantity
2. Structure (5 places)
· Plan design (draw out)
· Equipment needed (spars and hemps)
· Approval?
3. Publicity (7 places)
· Poster designs (3-4 designs)
· Banner design (including size and colours)
4. Pamphlet (5 places)
· Come up with what to include (e.g. CCA days, CCA durations, exposure to different skills (campcraft, first aid, hiking kayaking, outdoor cooking, rock climbing etc), annual events (OH, YLTC, Atlantis, Bike Hike, MAF etc!)
· Come up with design for pamphlet and how info would be organised
· Quantity
· Printing (non-coloured/coloured?)
5. Booth Display (5 places)
· Decide on what to display (e.g. OAC shirts, souvenirs, pamphlets etc)
· Arrangement of things around booth
· Make boards with photos of different events (sort of like a timeline)
In addition to these, various chiefs will plan activities for the day itself. For example, survivor chiefs can pitch tents/do outdoor cooking and let visitors try food, first aid chiefs can demo some stuff (:/), P&O can do various knots etcetc. If you are confused, just know that EVERYONE must be in a sub committee and various chiefs, in addition, will take care of their activities and all others who have nothing to do will help out and promote our booth.
For now, just remember to make your choices ASAP to facilitate our planning. Thank you!
Have fun on FOS! :)
Also, we are open to suggestions for the planning of this open house to make it an awesome one so if you have anything to say, just tell us!
